Valve train noise

I just finished building a 460 and am fighting valve train noise. I'm running C9VE heads with rocker studs, guide plates and roller rockers. I don't know how the builder set the lash but I had noise. So I popped the valve covers and brought each cylinder up on compression, took the slack out and gave the adjusting nut 1/2 turn on each valve. Still had noise so tonight I did the intake almost close, adjust the exhaust method. Still noise. So my question is am I adjusting the improperly? Could the push rods rubbing on the guide plates be the noise I'm chasing?
