my stater fried today after 12 years and 175.000 on the clocklol. were can i get a good starter i'm looking for a good gear reduction starter but OEM would work
My starter went south two years ago bought an Auto zone starter at a great price looked good installed it and two weeks later I was stranded the starter was bad no problem AZ gave me a new and guess what I got two weeks out of that pos too so got my money back and went to the Ford dealer bought a factory Ford rebuilt for 140 dollars and its still going strong today,,,,,,,,,,, Auto Zone starters SUCK
I went with the Nippon-Denso HiTorque starter from DB Electric. It was less expensive that stock, even with the cost of shipping. Bolted right in, no problems connecting the wires. Use some lock-tite on the bolts.
get the db electrical one. you will be amazed how much larger and heavy duty it is than the stock one for less money. there is a pic of the two side by side in this thread.
