I will try to help you with the basic code and serial number.I am sure others will chime in with the body, paint, and axle codes.F25SRY86223 breaks down like this: F25 is F250 2wd,S is the engine designation which translates to 400cid,R is the assembly plant which in this case is San Jose,Ca.Y86223 is part of the consecutive serial number run for or part of that production year.Hope I have helped you out some.
I'm still looking for help with the dataplate. Or if someone could give me a link to a data plate decoder for a 1977 pickup that would be fine as well.
I have never heard of the Dana 61 and just Googled it. Interesting that it was manufactured so that a lower than 3.54:1 (lower numerically) ring and pinion set could be offered.
The lowest you could get in a Dana 60 being 3.54:1.
Does anybody think this somewhat unusual axle has any value?

Beginning in 1981, Ford offered a 3.33-1 ratio in Dana 60's w/ or w/o Limited Slip. Good luck finding one...or the 3.54-1 as everyone is looking, few are finding any.

If that's the case I would think a 3.07:1 might be attractive to someone.
This truck has the Camper Special emblems (well actually one as the other is MIA) and perhaps that's all it has, not the "goodies" that are in the package.
I'm surprised (if it does have that option package) that one could get a 3.07:1 axle in a vehicle specifically made for hauling.
Was the Camper Special (Not the Super Camper Special) available in a four wheel drive?
