Free VIN Check????

We have a U13 roadster and are trying to find out who owned it before us and where it was registered. Does anyone know of a free VIN check that takes the 11 number VIN? All I'm finding is the 17 digit check. Thanks in advance for any help....

I don't think you are going to find anyplace that will give the previous owners name.
Privacy issues, which vary state to state.

I went to DOL in Washington State and they will only release such info in relatively few circumstances.

Welcome to FTE

The 11 digit Bronco VIN, when decoded, only gives the series, engine code, assembly plant code and the numerical sequence of assembly (last 6 digits).

Depending on the year, you may be able to get a copy of the original build sheet from martiauto.com. There is a charge for this info.

The Bronco's Warranty Plate has other info, including the DSO code, that when decoded, will tell which Ford district sales zone office the Bronco was originally ordered from.

Example: DSO: 71 = Los Angeles.

Post the VIN and all the codes, I can decode all of it.

Smile NumberDummy Warranty Plate decoding

Hey NumberDummy,

I am looking at buying a 1966 F100. I have the following, (which I think is everything about the truck)

Warranty Number = F10AK773464

WB = 115
Color = M
Model = F100
Body = 281
Trans = C
Axle = 9
GVW = 5000
HP = 129
RPM = 4000
DSO = 51

Any help you can get me would be appreciated.

FYI - The build sheet is available from Ford for free and you can request it online. I got the one for my 2001 F350 in just a couple of days; the sheet for my 57 Bronco took a few weeks.
