ok so last weekend i tried to take my turbo off my 94 stroker.. an i have no idea how to get the driver side, back bolt of the pedistal off while the turbo is on... do i have to un bolt the turbo from the pedistal from the under side?? or is there a tool? the o rings are leaking even worse now.. it would be nice to turn the chip up again... but does any one have any ideas?? this is my first time takin th turbo off.. any help will be appreciated... thanks
the turbo comes off with the pedestal attached, Theres 4 bolts 2 are easy 1 is hard and one is really hard, Just takes some skinny hands, wobble extensions and some flex sockets can help. It takes a little while to get off but not impossiable.
get a ratcheting gearwrench for the pedestal bolt on the pass side. 10mm . A 10 mm socket for the other ones.
For the exhaust inlet bottom 2 nuts use a stubby wrench and hold it in place while holding a prybar or other piece of steel on it long enough to go out from under the hood by your master cylinder. Have someone smack the prybar good with a hammer and that nasty nut will come loose. I hate that thing! This method works perfect though.
