Southpaw - I'm impressed! And I'm amazed that a standard battery it doesn't even protrude below the running boards.

I had been thinking that I'd have to put smaller batteries maybe even motorcycle batteries in on their side for lack of space but you've sure proved otherwise.

Will you be adding some sort of panel to protect the battery from rocks and mud coming off the front wheels?

On another note - I know you plan to power a compressor, etc with yours but in terms of distance from the engine I've never seen that as a big issue as I seem to recall Mercedes or some other maker putting the battery behind the rear seat.

I didn't want the battery inside anywhere. its well enough protected where its at now.. no room under the hood for 3rd battery. Just got the Isolator setup done last night and now its not charging so gotta figure that out this morning..
EDIT:
Found the problem... the 200A DB alternator requires an Isolator with an exciter terminal that will connect to the B+ terminal on their alternator. so they sent me the wrong one.... To their credit, they offered to send out the correct one and a returning shipping label will be in the box to send the wrong one back

Of course I loved having to do a full charging system diagnostic in the dark in sub freezing temps to find out the problem and confirm it with a phone call to DB...

so we are back to the standard setup until the new Isolator arrived...
