I just bought a 97 f250 with 7.3 has new tranny under warranty the tranny was not shifting at high acceleration tranny shop said tranny is fine but wont shift because of lack of power computer code shows exaust back pressure circuit tube and sensor coming from manifold were pluged i cleaned what is the proper name for this sensor i thought map sensor but it does not look like the map sensor on part pictures could it be somthingelse any help would be much appreciated
Sounds like you're asking about the Exhaust Back Pressure Sensor. The Exhaust Back Pressure Valve (on the turbo) is used to help warm up the engine. (I keep mine unplugged - two-wire connector to the right of and under the turbo) I don't think it has anything to do with how the tranny shifts.
