Looking to put some cams in my truck and came up with these COMP Cams - Cam Details
Looking to get some opinions as to whether or not I should get them. They would be going in my 1999 F-150 4.6 with Headers, K&N intake, Flowmaster 3 chamber muffler, 4.56 gears and no Cats/w dummy sensors. Truck is used on and offroad about 60/40
My question is what purpose do you want the cam for and what are looking for out of the cam?
I know you did not ask for my opinion but in older trucks you added them for more top or more bottom. In my opinion the new motors offer enough of both and adding a different "chip" is much easier and accomplishes the same thing.
in my honest opinion, i tried to get some for my ride and it just aint worth it. when you change cams you gota change alot of stuff- stall converter, lifters, and alot of engine components- so just 500 bucks in cams will turn into several thousands dollers.

If you're not changing the intake manifold to something that'll actually flow a useful amount of air, then you're wasting time and money.

What are my options intake manifold wise? The only thing I can ever really find is the carb'd victor
The only intake manifold that really works well on a street engine is the car plastic PI intake manifold. It will require many changes to the current configuration of your truck, and a retune of the PCM for it to work properly. And if you actually believe the Comp Cams ad that those cams will work properly with the stock PCM, you're mistaken.

Like drastic changes? What all would it require? I figured it wouldn't be as easy as bolting them in and going that's why I came here with my ? before I bought I wanted to find out what I would need to do to make it work and be worth it. That and I do plan on taking it somewhere and having the PCM custom tuned afterwards

The following will need to be changed/rerouted,etc:
Fuel lines
Wiring harness
Air inlet
Throttle Body
EGR tube/Valve
Fuel rails
You not going to gain enough power to make it worth the hassles and money spent.
