Question Check this out !!

So i was talking with this ford mechanic today and i was informed that on vehicles with abs the brake fluid is supposed to be changed every 30,000 miles just like the transmission fluid. Is there any truth to this? If so this is the first i've heard about it .......

Well yes and no, you should change it, but its fine if you dont. He tells you this for the same reason people tell you to change your oil at 3k miles. Because it makes them more money.

I do 7-8k oil changes
80-90k tranny fluid changes
100k+ rear diff change
and well. i havent changed my brake fluid yet.
front diff never touched(only thing in the truck that hasnt been)

201k miles on my tough ford.

I don't know if 30k is necessary but I would recommend at least once before 100k. I've always changed/flushed the fluid when changing the rear pads/shoes which for me has been between 60 and 80k.

im with torkum. dont hurt to get the crud out and install new oil before 100k miles. some steering systems look pretty bad (dirty oil) before that.
