basically i was looking for advice before i lay down a hundred bucks and still aint happy with what i got. i am way too loud now and need to tone it just right. i have a 351 w with a cam, ported heads, y pipe and no cats on a 93 f150. i have it all going through a 3 in jegs dual exhaust kit in dual 3 in pipes and some sort of junk muffler that is still too loud. i want it to semi quiet on idle, which is a bit more since it is cammed. and i want that classic mellow tone they describe using flowmaster 50 series 3 chamber mufflers. i am afraid if i lay down the money for the 50 series it will still be too loud because i have no cats, and if i get a 70 series i wont be happy because it will be too quiet on the acceleration. but i still dont want to bother the neighbors two blocks away...lol
any help is greatly appreciated,
Check out http://www.exhaustsoundclips.com/ford.html and see if they have anything you like. I ran some 70 series on an old 76 F250, and I thought they sounded great. I dont understand how people can say 'yeah, my 40 series are too quiet'. Too quiet?!?!
i listened to the clips and think i will be happy with the 70 series. seeing as i have no cats and a thumpity motor. flowmaster website had only chevies for this series but gave me a good idea seeing as i am about the same decible range .
