Hey everyone! I saw a thread a while back about someone who's track bar mount on the axle had broken and I am in a similar situation. Somehow my track bar mount has broken and got smashed, so re welding isn't an option. I tried calling around for a track bar mount but since it is welded to the axle, no one has a replacement part. Does anyone know where to find a new or aftermarket mount?? The salvage yards only want to sell me the whole danged axle....

Mine snapped off right along the weld on the axle. I had a suspension specialty shop look at it and the owner who has been doing this forever decided welding would be my best bet.
70K miles later it is still good.
If you were near me I could weld you up a new one. I'd find an offroad shop/Jeep club and find someone with fabrication skills. A track bar mount is easy for those guys.
Hey, thanks for the replies... I was hoping the part may be replaceable, but it looks like yall are right and the part is not sold seperately. I am going to stop by our local metal fabrication shop and see what they can come up with tomorrow. I'll update if I find a solid solution as it seems this is fairly commonplace...
I was the one with the thread awhile back, I'm in the process of getting it fixed now. If you look on Ed's site there is what appears to be a stock replacement available - www.partsguyed.com
I couldn't be sure that was what I needed and since mine can be welded I'm going that route. Hope you're able to get it fixed
Well, the fabrication shop told me that due to liability concerns, they cannot fix the mount. SO, I went to a different dealer and the mount at the axle is only serviced with part 3010 which is the whole housing. The above posted part seems to be the 5A136 which is not part of the flimsy mount I managed to re break... I am having a truck service center try to fix it tomorrow...Hopefully they can salvage part of it

I kind of understand where they are coming from but jeez. It shouldn't be that hard to get someone to weld a piece of metal to the axel housing. If they are really that worried about it then they need better welders.
Yeah, I kind of understand, but at the same time, they fabricate elevator shaft housings, truck racks, bumper protectors, etc, so I'm not sure why they said no. If my MIG hadn't died, I'd wander over to the steel supply here, and do it myself, but, the feed is screwed up and it won't work consistently...
Well, just figured I'd put a close to this thread. I managed to have the shop hack together a fixed mount, even if it is a bit ugly looking. It have been trussed and although a bit crude looking, gets the job done. I did notice the tie rod had some wear from where it had contacted the old mount on a tight turn, not sure what that was about. At any rate, thanks for the replies, and check your mount carefully for cracks before it breaks off, and if possible, strengthen and box the existing mount, as I feel like the factory mount is too weak...
