Snow!!!

Looks like I'm going to have to fire up the snow blower in the morning. We have about 8-10 inches of it on the ground now. Maybe the wind will blow it all off the drive tonight and I won't need to clear it in the morning.

Schools around this area are already cancelled for tomorrow.

Little bit o ice out there but thats all down this way. Ben wanted out side this morning bout 2:30 AM an when I opened the door it sounded like a jet engine outside. Wind was blowing so hard it roared. Ben went out but did not stay long. Lookin out the tree branches are sill movin purdy good so I guess the wind is still at it some. Think I'll wait ta hit the yard store for some stuff.

We had about 18" to 2 ft. of snow drifted in the drive in front of the garage. I was cleaning that when the belt for the drive wheels on the snow blower broke. I did manage to get that cleared, but there is still snow on the driveway. It is mostly stuff that got packed by the vehicles going in and out yesterday. I'll get a new belt today and try to get is cleared tonight.

We probaby had about 10" of snow overall, but it is moving around and piling up now.

8 degrees here when I left the house around 9:00 after moving snow.

all this snow, and I had to drive the big white whale all over town.. fixin atms..
All along the sun was shining, but it was too cold to be out if you didn't have to. when the sun shines, I was wishing it would be warm enough to take the girls sledding. I also wanted to get in the Jeep and bust snow drifts, but I gotta say, its not much fun in the snow. At least when I was playing. I almost had to put it in two wheel drive just to get it to get loose on the road like I was expecting. maybe I should get rid of it.....NAW!!

Drove the diesel SD to work today and it was stubborn about starting. I plugged in the block heater for about 45 minutes before I tried to start it and that probably wasn't enough time. It did start after two or three tries though. Glad it had new batteries last year.

I did get the belt for the snow blower, but didn't get home until about dark thirty, so I'll let the rest of the snow clearing go for a day or two since I can get in and out of the drive OK.

I drove in circles around said Red Diesel SD today, it looked good sitting there in the parking lot. I was wondering, did you get new wheels for it? They sure were a shining..

Nah, no new wheels. I just polished the chrome earlier this summer and then had the cruise control recall done last week and the dealer washed it for free. Dealer must be hurting for business because they were real sociable.

Too bad the old 7.3 diesel is the best diesel engine Ford has had since 2003. I couldn't even be interested in the new ones. Of course, I couldn't afford one either.

I hope Ford's new diesel that is coming out is a great engine.

The service tech that worked on mine at the dealer didn't even suggest that the 6.0 or 6.4 were any improvement over the 7.3. I know they have more power, but for about $400 I can get a DP tuner and have all the power I need, plus plenty to break stuff.

Finally managed to get to work this morning. Drove 2 miles going 40 mph on I-70 yesterday and decided that I was NOT going to drive an hour to get to work

Turned around, went back to bed. Managed to get a bunch of weekend work done in the house though, and rip-snorted around town in the Jeep a good portion of the day. Not bad at all.....
