Lookin at the weather on my homie page an it said it was 10 degrees outside. Then I noticed a -15! Seems Nathrop, CO is -15 right now. Wonder how cold it was on up at St. Elmo or up at camp above there? Bet folks were in the truck an had the heater running at camp.
My home page says -22 jack and suppose to get to a whooping
10 today, but no more snow at least not today I don't think.
Nice to talk with you lastnight
I don't even want to look.. I would rather not know how cold it is, if I have to stand out in it, I am just glad its mostly been slow, except every one of my calls today was outside and most of them seemed like there was wind being channeled by the atm. BRRRRR
Lucky you are warm blooded and can hang out in a t shirt when I have to have a sweater and a coat to keep warm. Of course if you are out working in this stuff, maybe you get used to it and just need a t shirt.
I'm a polar bear like my father before and I have managed to figure my time outside scientifically if I was in my usual steel toed boot, jeans, and U-Haul special issue full button down short sleeve shirt and no wind.
-10-0 F 5 mins (7-10 with heavy gloves)
0-20 F 30 mins (45 with gloves)
20-40 F 1 hour-8 hours
If there is a wind chill I got usually got about max 5-15 minutes outside with the temps =<30F.
Amazing what I can do when I'm not pumping propane.
woke up this morning in rapid city and it was -10 with a windchill of -20, get down to torrington wy and it had gotten down to -22 without the wind chill. so yall can quit whining about the temps down there lol
Nathrop is just -9 this mornin. Nathrop is down in the valley from where we wheel in Colorado and is where we go to get showers when we camp up on Tin Cup Pass rd. above St. Elmo. So it would be way colder up at the camp we use. 8 above outside in my yard this mornin.
Green didn't like the temps ths mornin. Passangers side window still won't go down. Been over a week since I took it out for a drive though. Made an awfull noise when I tried to start it the first time. The second it turned over oooo so slow then it fired and stayed running. Think I'll keep the old girl.
Took Shadow to the vet this morning. He had a mole on his face that was bad and Ben will not leave it alone. They should have it off today and Shadow home after 4:00 this afternoon. Ben is crying and just can't stand being without Shadow. Ben can leave through the gate anytime he wants. So I hope he stays around after Shadow is gone. Shadow is 12 and had his birthday yesterday. Shadow was the runt of the litter and was brought to us before he was old enough to be weened. He just was too small and weak to compete for food. He survived and grew up larger than any of his sibblings. 120 lbs of Black Lab. Ben is a Husky. He is 7-8 years old and about 60 lbs. He was a stray that had been injured. I really think he was a victim of the big tornado that went through. Guess I miss Shadow a bit myself.
