Ignition Module Elimination
Alright...here we go again
I am tired of the ignition module box that normally screws to the fender on a '79 f100. I am looking for way to get rid of that using an MSD control box paired with a pro billet dist.
I am positive somebody on here has done something like this already and I would love the help.
I just need to know the basics of what I need to get as well as a little know how.
Main reason for the job is most of the under hood wiring is still 30+ year old factory and I'm just looking to freshen things up a bit.

whats up with this? I tried posting an answer a few minutes ago. Here we go again I guess. I'd go with a msd 6A unless you need a rev limiter for some reason then go with a 6al. Get a blaster coil and pro billet dizzy and you won't be dissapointed. Pretty easy wiring diagrams included with these items. I love using MSD

I did exactly that, only I still use my Duraspark dizzy, its just a trigger. For me a MSD dizzy is a waste of money, since no real gain to be had from it. I had my stock one recurved. The directions that come with the MSD box give you several wiring options for our Durasparks, one retains it, one removes it completely. I removed it, and have zero regrets.
Love the instant starting too... Its in the 20's today ( unusuall for this time of year) and starts on the first crank, EVERY time.

sweet sweet I'll do a little price shopping. I really just hate that ignition box, always have. Doesn't help that in Louisiana it gets a million degrees soaking wet.
