need wiring guru

i have a 79 351m that i am trying to get running out of the truck. i have the motor cranking, gas to it and oil pressure, cant get any spark. i plugged the distributer to the (brain box?)control module. there is another plug with two wires in it a red one and a white one, i know they need to be hooked to something just not sure what. does one get power and one ground?, or both power or what? i tried to look at the diagram with no luck. but the motor is not in a vehicle as i said. how do i get spark?

Is the brain box grounded to the same ground as the engine?

the two red wires are "HOT" one with ign and one in "cranking" if u put 12V to both of them it should start.

you also need power to the BAT connection on the coil. It will be ok for a bit on full 12 volts....in a vehicle it gets fed through a resistance wire and doesn't get a full 12 volts (except during cranking). I don't the a grounded case is required either.

as previously stated, they are both hot...white is normally hot in crank, red hot in run.

Maybe a quick test with ohm meter making certain ALL grounds are common to one another without any resistance.
