Pain in the petunias. Don't know what it's costing me for E-mailing, haven't got my new bill yet. Let me go try this again. Back in a few.

F15 = F150 2WD Regular Cab Pickup.

N = 5.0 (302) EFI.

TRANS code E = E4OD or 4R100, Ford used the same code for both.

AXLE Code = 1?N

SPRING Codes: C = Front Spring Code / V = Rear Spring Code.

TAPE Code (5) = Used by Ford partsmen/body shops to figure out what the hell the stripe kit part number is.

It was a b!tch in the old days trying to figure out what the stripes were, cuz there were no codes, a gazillion different types, some weren't pictured.

DSO 53 = Kansas City Ford District Sales Office, where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.

If you type the BODY & AXLE codes, I'll decode them.

Thanks everybody, Jr. you got me good on that one. Just checked the phone, both gone. Don't know what happened to them. Let me check my Photo Bucket & see if it's still there. Just took it this morning, don't know what happened to it.

Here's the other one. Looks fuzzier to me. That would make the other one the second ( newer ) picture.

BODY BJ4: BJ = Granite Knit & Vinyl Upholstery / 4 = Styleside Pickup, Bench Seat.

AXLE 19N: Ford 8.8" Rear Axle / 3.55-1 / non Limited Slip / 3800 lb. Rear Axle Capacity.

EXTERIOR PAINT COLORS: YY = Colonial White / If the second code is YN = Silver (The second letter appears to be an N).

Thanks for the help. Not sure I'd call it silver, little darker. Just curious, the seat I swapped out was cloth. Does that mean it was changed before I got it? 355 gears sounds good. Don't want to mess with that. I was hoping & got lucky this time.

The 1980 and newer parts catalogs don't go into as much detail inre to upholstery as the older versions do.

Is there any vinyl on the door panels?

The second letter of the tu-tone paint color code seems to be an N, which would indicate silver, but the pic is a bit fuzzy.

And as I said earlier, my eyes are 65 years old...the lenses were R&R'd in the 1990's after having cataracts removed, but....

btw: WOW...you've racked up a lotta posts in the three months you've been a member.

At this rate...you may pass the FTE member who has the record for most posts typed in a single year. I'm not sayin' who that is, mebbe you can guess.
