Thanks for the info. There is a little section in the book that says the same about drilling the rivet. I'm going to meter the switch first and find out how it operates the actuator. Probably a negative pulse on the wire is my guess. Hoping the switch is the culprit and not the later.

Last one I had apart, reverse polarity electromagnet.
That was a long time ago, but I bet they are still about the same.
