door locks

since i am a follower of the Castle Doctrine here in texas, i have an issue. I cant lock my drivers door. Kinda uneasy when i go to bigger towns in the area with a loaded 45 in the console. The accuator on the drivers door has gone out. I found one on autozone website that there seem to be no way to get it, just a picture takeing up space on the internet. Found one on RockAuto, aint no way in hell i am paying 291.99$ for this part.. I will put a Master Lock and a claps on the door first...

Is this what you're looking for: 1987 - 1991 Ford Bronco - Full Size VIC DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR - AM Autoparts

It looks like it'll fit 1980-1991 F250 and F350.

My actuator went out a couple of days ago. My local tarp mechanico pulled the bad one and came back the next day with a plastic actuator, made in China. He had to clip the wires and fabricate connections but now it works. The part cost me $28.00 plus labor.
I would remove your actuator and look for an aftermarket part.

Star Castle Doctrine, in part changed the concealed carry laws to include unlicensed concealed carry in your vehicles... Since many vehicles now days cost as much as a house, you are now allowed to protect yourself and your vehicle as you would your own home. It also relaxed the laws dealing with home protection and protecting your neighbor's property and other peoples in public places. Broadened justifiable shooting

I believe the Castle Doctrine only applies in states that recognize it, like Texas.

Well I was born and raised in Texas and back then everybody always carried a gun.
Here in alaska you can get a concealed carry but you only need it when your going out of state. Anybody can conceal carry here even to the goveners dinner.

Anybody know how the actuator is removed? I have power at the switch but it won't activate the actuator. It moves freely.

I don't do nuts and bolts but I watched my mechanic replace mine last week.

You have to pull the door panel, remove the connecting rods and drill out the rivet that is holding the actuator. Then remove the actuator.

Use a bolt to replace the rivet when installing the new one.
