Has any one run these headers on their trucks... Click Here
How do they fit and how low to do they hang down? I wanna put them on my 96' F-250 (351)... Kinda mad i order a set of Pacesetter 70-2221's back in October and they backordered them (at the time till the middle of Nov.) I just call Pacesetter today to see when they would be shipping and the customer service guy told me they JUST got the materials to make them and they be available till some time after new years. He also mentioned this was their first time making these headers??? WTF So these Hookers were my second choice...
no ones tried this type before... in general are Hookers a decent fitting header (does it take alot of mods to get them to fit or are they known to be pretty much bolt on and go??)
That sucks about the PaceSetters. Who did you order them from? Perhaps a few calls could locate a shop that actually has a set in stock. Ebay shows them offered by a shop in Arizona (Adrenaline), which is also where PaceSetter is located. Perhaps they might have more info? I am running a set of the 70-2221 headers and have been really pleased. I am one of the most impatient persons, but if I were getting another set of headers, I would wait on the PaceSetters. Unfortunately I do not have any experience with the Hooker headers, so I can not comment on them.
I had a set of hookers years ago that were ok but I used to blow gaskets on a regular basis. Don't know if thats the headers fault though. Many folks here have used the hedmans.
Headers are on my list and I'm getting Pacesetters, even if I have to wait.

Actually i ordered them from Auto Accessories Garage like you did... its was about a week after i placed my order they e-mailed me and said they were on back-order. I called AAG and talked to the guy and he said a few days before my order went in they sold quite a few of those headers (people must have saw your thread when you used them... that's why i wanted them). What i dont get is when i called Pacesetter to get an update lastnight, the service guy told me this was the first time they were making these headers... i was like are you talkin about the 70-2221's??? and he said yup... how could that be someone else makin headers for pacesetter or something?
Anyway i did look around for a place that had them in stock (actaully the peolpe from pacesetter helped) but i found nothing, a large chuck of their distributors dont stock anything.
i put hedman long tubes on my 93 5.0 and they didnt fit well the driver side was hitting the front drive shaft and the right was on the frame. i ended up turning them in and tried another set and it didnt fit much better i had to modify them so they would fit. i had those headers in and out about 5 times before i got them to fit right.,
I was really happy with Pacesetter's customer service when I bought the header for my last car. They mailed me all the info I needed for the install and answered all my questions (and fast!), even though I bought the header second hand.
I've never deal with hooker, so I can't speak for them as a company, but Pacesetter has good products and good service. IMO I'd wait for the pacesetters.
