Santa came early and I finally ordered my bed. I ordered it from Mar-K. They are very nice people but now I have delimma on where to order the tailgate from as they don't sell the Ford script tailgates. I order a lot of parts from Dennis Carpenter but they are pretty high priced. Has anybody got experience with the quality from different places? I figure there can't be but about one or two places that actually make the tailgates.
Also, on a different note... Does anyone have the exact dimensions to cut all the wood for the bed? I have oak cut off our family's land that I plan to use.
Try this place for the tailgate. They are a great source for alot of bed parts. I wouldn't be surprised if they were the supplies to most of the vendors https://www.mackhils.com/mack_products/
I ordered my truck bed from Mar-k yesterday and because I work for FedEx, requested FedEx shipping.... I don't know if they thought I was joking or not, but today I got an email and the tone of it didn't set quite right with me.... The lady I spoke with was very nice, and I requested delayed shipping, so she said she would have someone email me--which I recieved today. It stated that since the shipping was free, they would choose whether to ship FedEx or UPS. It was a really odd email--the tone was just "off". I didn't know if anyone else had that kind of experience or not...Just wondering if this had happened to anyone.
With companies going out of business you would think that they would be a little bit more customer service friendly, but they are not! UPS shipping to Canada has extremely high brokerage fees, even on items with no duty, so if I ask suppliers to ship any other way, NO. It is just easier to get everything ready for the brown truck to pick up at 4:00 pm everyday, I’m sure the post office or Fed Ex will pick up! Laziness / compliancy makes for poor business practice, oh well they don’t get my meager pittance.
