It's just not the same since my dad passed away. there is a lot of friction between my mom and I, not just around the holidays but everyday.
My poor sister seems to always be in the middle of it.
I'm not sure if i will put myself and my family through that again.
next year were staying home.... AND! i did not even mention the inlaws, thats a whole other story!

it was perfect, just my wife and kids. no phone calls, no company no relatives. everything that was bought was paid for with cash so no debt. for breakfast I made my traditional apple cinnamon crepes, we read the Christmas story from the Bible than opened our gifts. watched movies all day and than for dinner I made home made rolls, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and the finest Elk steaks.
my dog was the most excited, he got a new "Jolly Ball" with a 1" horse rope tied to it! he was more excited than any kid I have ever seen at Christmas. he played so hard that when he laid down he just passed out.

Good Evening Arizona.
Come on Bruce. You are having wonderful weather compared to us low lander's. We were burning up at about 29 degrees today. The local weather says we will be in the 40s around new years. I don't believe it for a minute.
