also decided that i'm going to fork up the $130 to do a dual battery set up on my 91. im gonna make a bracket and attach it to the frame rail under the bed, and run the cables up to the battery under the hood. and the battery ill use as a second is going to be a bulldozer battery with 950 cold cranking amps so i can actually start my freakin truck in this cold without gettin jumped every time...
The wind has calmed down a bit here, maybe I should go out and play in the snow now!
Hey Trey, have you ever checked out the Optima red top battery? They are about 900 CCA's. I've got one for my truck sitting in the garage. I took it out over the summer since the Motorcraft looked 'prettier' when I took my truck to a couple shows. I haven't had to park outside too much yet this winter, so the factory-spec Motorcraft has been able to do the job ok.
honestly never even thought about the optimas. i might replace the regular battery with one, but i still want that bulldozer battery. then i dare something to try to stop my cranking poweress!! anybody know where the neutral safety switch is at on a 91 F250? id love to be able to start in gear...
lol. i know how to drive on ice jack. its the other people who dont that worry me... i have bald, summer road tires, im tail-light, and have a ton of power through a 5 speed, and can control my truck better in 2wd than a lot of yahoos in all-wheel drive with brand new, studded road tires.

Those Optima batteries are great but expensive! Make sure when you store your battery you don't set it on concrete.. will kill it
RU77, please dont think i am picking on you, but......AWOL(absent without leave). i have read in various places that the battery on concrete thing is a myth, however, i always put mine on a 2 by 4 or something
