So i took the HID lights out of my 73 F250 and went back to the basic hologen sealed beam. I usually just pull out in the street after dark to adjust. but i know there is a specific way to do it..looked all over for some sort of chart that says at what height to set them at a certian distance..like off your garage door. but can't seem to find the info. so i will summon the vast knowledge availabel to me here..thanks in advance..marty
Dale, he posted in another thread about his reasons for switching back which have to do with the need to upgrade the charging system and the fact that he doesn't drive the truck after dark frequently enough to warrant the expense.
Marty, here's a link to a site with simple instructions:
to answer both responces...they projected great..wway farther then regular lights. but the electrical system really needs to e upgraded to handle the load. as an example. these were a plug in conversion..just replaced original lights and plugged in t he harness, it went to a ballast..like a flourecent light has. then to the xenon bulb, which is gas operated..requires a spark to egnite it. so without a high output alternator and an inline relay system the balasts didn't get the needed power to egnite. one would come on and after it warmed up abit you could turn the switch it off and on again and the other would come on. amd as i don't really drive it a t night much, just easier to go back. but they certiantly are bright...
and dan, i will check the site to get the adjustment right...thanks for the responce..I apreciate it...marty
