the hood on my 58 f-100 rubs the cowl vent everytime u open it, so i tried to adjust it out some and it still rubs against the cowl vent if i adjust it much more it will be to far forward .what gives??
Did you remove and re-install the cowl vent? Has it been re-installed in the original position? Straight edge across the top of the cowl for Height? Is there any adjustment on the cowl vent?? I don't know this model very well, but you may need to make some compromises..
I might try to get the hood to fit as well as possiable..1/4" gap at hood and cowl ...leave the vent 'loose' and allow it to 'float'..while at the same time ,inserting a piece of manila cardboard/plastic ,between the hood and cowl then open and close the hood slowly..allowing the cardboard to act as a buffer/shim..just enough to allow the hood to open without touching,..maybe push that vent back a bit..then snug the cowl down and recheck it.Just an idea,..I know those gaps can be close/tight sometimes...seems each one needs a custom fit. Good Luck!
i had the same problem(for the past 2 years). but i figured it was because i have a 1950 hood on a 52 F1. but it ended up being my hood latch/panel was in need of slight adjustment.
