Where is the jack?

I am not sure wher the Jack was kept. I think it was just stored behind the seat. Don't think there was a specific place. They are not reproducing these jacks. You can find them on ebay. Maybe somebody on here has some pics to post. They are a bottle type jack that Ford used for many years. The handle folded in half.

Well, that means I do not have one. Bobsf100 said they have jacks for $75. No picture or confirmation it is original though. Frank, another source said try Sacramento Vintage Ford. So seems there are options.

On the Bonus Built, the jack was stowed on the floor behind the seat on th epassenger side of the gas tank. Since your gas tank is under your drivers side running board, there's a difference of course. Look for a hole with a nut in it in the back right corner of the cab - just as a starting place.
51 Jack location:
I'd check out the car parts swap meets for one. DON'T get suckered into buying one off E-bay. They sell for up to $100 and I saw 3 or 4 at the last 3-day parts swap meet for under $15!

"Bonus Built" was an advertising name Ford assigned to the 1948-1952 Trucks.
Folks who have the classic 1953-1956 F-Series, call the "Effies."
And the later model (I'mnot sure of the years) that were more boxy (maybe 57-60 - ish) you will her refered to as "Refrigerators."
Welcome to FTE by the way!

Thanks a lot. I have other vehicles and these forums never cease to amaze at how much help one can get just by asking. I have saved a ton of money and trouble on vehicle forums in the past few years. It is truly a shame you cannot get that kind of help from a dealer or local shop.

Ford Truck jacks changed from about 1972 and up they then had aluminum bodies.
I have some 50+ photos of truck jacks and from the late 40's thru the 70's the body/base of these bottle jacks are all identical be it GM, Dodge or Ford.
The only thing that changed was the tops of the jacks... some have small brackets, some large, some cast iron. In the 60's some Ford trucks like the Bronco I'm told used a shorter bodied jack ( looks identical but about 1.5 inches shorter ).
As to nailing down which jack belongs to which truck.... I'm always hesitant to rush to judgement because these old jacks seem to migrate from trunk to trunk as time went by and vehicle ownership changed hands. A Chevy truck jack sitting in a old salvage yard may find it's way down the row of cars to lift up a Plymouth, where it may sit for years before some young kid uses it on a Pinto, then another yard patron borrows it and uses it in a Dodge Van.... then I show up and document the newly found Dodge Van jack. Are we confused yet... I am...!

Yep, that would be my fault. Not too good at keeping things organized online anyway.
