Getting ready to put my 66 on the road. First things first....I need to install a spare tire under the bed, obtain the proper Jack, jack handle and tire iron. I see where the jack handle and tire iron mount under the hood. Where is the jack normally stored?
Should store with the handle-lugwrench. I keep 1 ton trolly jacks in my trucks along with a pull handle & 13/16 socket. Rig up something, make it work.
I had the same question as you about four years ago when I was putting my '66 back on the road. I was told (here on the forum) that spare wheel/tire and jacking equipment were not supplied as standard, they had to be optionally ordered, and that the jack and tire iron were stored either under the seat or behind the seat. The Owner's Manual does not mention them. For the '67 model year Ford made provisions to store all of the jacking equipment under the hood, I think on one of the inner fender panels. My solution was to get a bed tool box and store all that stuff in there along with other useful items that don't fit well in the cab. Hope this helps.

Where is the jack supposed to be stored? 1961/66: Under the seat.
Beginning in 1967: The jack and lug wrench were retained by a clamp to the left fender inner apron. The loooong jack crank was retained by clips to the front of the radiator support.
The jack and lug wrench are the same: 1948/52 F1/F3, 1953/79 F100/350, 1969/91 Econoline.
The lug wrench (C2SZ-17032-C) was also used in myriad 1948/79 Passenger Cars, so it's EZ to find in wrecking yards.
1969/91 Econolines have the spare tire, jack, jack crank and lug wrench located on the inside of the right quarter panel.
And, the Econoline jack crank (82Y-17081-B) folds in two, this was also an option for 1938/90's trucks and it's still available from Ford.
