Wow I think with you building this bad azz 445....you shouldnt skemp on the rocker set-up.. I'd dump the stock shafts..and go to the Erson set-up or the PAS set-up...and the spacer's you see in the kits are to keep the proper rocker geometry, and not have then walk around on you..they came with a spec sheet to tell you what width spacer goes in between each rocker.. (no brianer) and on the intake..I'am not sure I'd be looking to run a dual plane with that long arm crank in there..you'll get plenty of Tq.. just from that arm swinging around.. I dont know what heads your thinking about going either.. BT's would be my first choice for the FE (if the budget allows) but if you need to go with edHeads..You'll probably have to have someone or yourself use a tootsie roll cartrage and clean the up a bit to get at your HP level your wanting.. and another thing is going to be the cam and compression to get you there too ! both are going to have to be pretty stout to get there.. But 10.5 to 11 to 1 is not un heard of with good quench and the right cam and timing..and still run 93 octane pump gas with aluminum heads..
But Barry should have you covered on all of this...as he like's Building on the edge street FE's like I do... I say if I can hang a tag on the car/truck...Its street legal where I live...Hence the move out of SoCal... I dont have to worry about there crap anymore..Plus all the guys at the inspection stations have been to my house at least once for a party at sometime or other...so they usually have the stickers ready when I get there ...
Good Luck on your Build and keep us posted on the progress !!
Your luck is like mine Russ. I bought my galaxie 350 miles away, and spent the money getting it road worthy then found out about a 67 fairlane. Backhalved, tubbed, 4 link and 10pt cage (no good tires or rim, motor or trans but all else what there) for about half what I had into the galaxie less then 30 miles away.
I hear ya Rob,
About a year ago there was guy 2 counties S/E of me, that had a 93 Stang GT...that was clean as hell, No motor or trans, was a 5.0 car...certifiable 10 point..Welds front and rear...UPR uppers and lowers..new caster camber adjustable plates..Mini tubbed..sunken fuel cell , aeromotive fuel pump all AN fittings. Nice complete interior plus the back seat delete option..for $2K
I called on it....and went down and looked at it..told him to let me think on it a week....Called him back and it was gone...He didnt have the title..But sold it with a bill of sale..and let it go for $1200...I about cried !! That was what the A460 block was gonna go into at that time...
yeah i still have an A460 block and some Oliver 6.7 rods still sitting here waiting for me to decide what to do with them LOL
Rob, Ya gonna run TFS A460's on that build or some P-51's ? I really cant believe some of the numbers the giuys are getting out of the P-51's with everything being in the basically stock location..
I guess charlie really worked those EdHeads for Nick too...he ran some good numbers in the 1/4 without spray !!
Did you see that Dan has his KILLER Falcon for sale... That twin turboed car is a work of Art !!
Probably run the P51 heads but probably will depend on what I decide to put it in. But I have been giving Jon's B9 heads some serious though. Since the Galaxie does have a Boss 9 scoop on it, maybe it shoudl have a Boss under that hood LOL
Oh I love the B-9's...but that $7500 price tag is just a bit too much for this poor boy !! But a set of B-9's and a blower would have a really nice COOL factor !!
Chit Rob, you otta know by now that too much HP and Tq is still never enough..I'am sure if you had it..you'd find a way too Hook it !! Yeah i'll just be strokin a D9 to 557 and putting some Charlie P-51's on it... A Victor and a re-worked 1250 Dommy and call it good..
