Lately when driving I have noticed a shake. Like that of a cylinder not firing. It has always been at low idle around 40mph. When it happens as soon as I'm aware it's gone away. Today when driving down a back street it happened but didn't quit right away. I got cought at a red light and the truck just kept running like crap shaking untill the light went green. When I accelerated it cleared up and hasn't been back. I have turned my edge off (it was on lv3 with 93) incase I had to go to the dealer. I have 55+k miles on the truck. Just replaced the plugs 12k ago with autolights.
If it's any consolation, mine did that a few times also when I was running with an Edge, also set at Level III. I pulled it out completely after checking real performance times and realizing it wasn't doing a damn thing. I set it for stock, changed my shift firmness and pulled it out. I'll throw it back in if I need to change my shift firmness but other than that, it was a waste of $400.00.
I have an SCT X3 with custom tunes and I can tell a difference in mine. After experimenting with the different tunes I run all the time with the 87 octane tow tune. I get slightly better mileage, much better shifting, and much better throttle response. I don't think it has a noticeable power increase, just better driveability. Although it does have much better off idle response with all 3 tunes. I really didn't notice much difference between the 91 tow tune and the 87 tow tune, so I run the 87 tow tune and 87 octane gas with absolutely no problems. But keep in mind that the SCT reflashes the PCM whereas the Edge is a piggyback controller. Connection problems could occur with the Edge or similar tuners such as Banks or Bully Dog and that could effect driveability.
