Tow/Haul switch started blinking?
I have 129K on my 03 350 4x4. Never had a problem.
On my way to work, the tow/haul light started blinking, then I got a check engine light, then the temp gauge went to the red. I was a mile from work and driving slow. I got to work and check the rad. and the engine was not hot.
What could be the problem(s)?
I live 45 miles away. Can I drive it home?
Thanks

The blinking tow/haul light indicates a transmission fault. Usually it does not set a check engine light, but I could imagine that it could. Now about the temp spike: was it the coolant temp, or the tranny temp gauge? If it was the engine temp, than it's kind of disturbing.
Since you had the blinking tow/haul light and also the MIL light, you sure have a DTC stored. It would be smart to check that, before you drive your truck for an other 45 miles.

tow haul flashing and check gauges comes on
I have a 05 f250 powerstroke found the tow haul light flashing and check gauges light noticed the tranny temp went to cold looked on the internet and found out it could be tranny temp sensor but no other info. called ford and asked for this and they had a hard time finding it . IT PULLS UP AS A TRANSMISSION OIL TEMP SENSOR had the part number but lost it anyways it cost 20 dollars pretty chep. it is about the size of the end of a pen cap with a little o ring on the one side and electrical connector on the other. total cost because i said what the hell might as well change the filter too was 100 dollars with the temp sensor filter and 8 qt of tranny fluid trough ford. to find this sensor i was laying with my head towards driver side and feet out of the passanger side looking up into the tranny with the pan droped it was located to the rear and driver side i belive in between two shifting solinoids has only two wires going to it and i pulled it out with pliers be careful when pulling it out tranny fluid will come out. also when this sensor was messed up i noyiced the truck was shifting hard between gears and would not go into over drive i hope this helps. and yes this fixed my tyruck
