Stuiped exhaust question...
Im asking this question for my buddy... he has a 95 f150 reg. cab with the 302 in it. Hes going to replace the stock cat. with some pipes then put a single in single out cat on the I-pipe. Heres the question he has a sawzall and his buddy that lives about a hour away has a welder. He has to go over there anyways for the holiday but his buddy dosent have a way to cut it off. He wants to cut it off then drive over to his buddys but hes afraid it might heat up the transmission sense the 2 pipes that go into it are right by it. I dont see any wires that could melt but would there be any problems if he cut it off then drove a hour to his buddys? i told him it will be loud sense its right underneath the cab. but he said he knows.

Tell him it only takes five minutes to hack off pipes. It is much smarter to wait to cut it off. I suspect he just wants to hear his truck with no exaust. If this is the case, offer to drive the truck for him once you all get to your destination. He can hear his own truck drive by, rev up, etc.

Well, if he just absolutely HAS to cut it off at his house and then drive it over, I suppose it can be done that way. Make damn sure there is no fuel leaks anywhere and hack it off. You will have a loss in back pressure for that trip so I hope he isnt going to pull anything. Other than that, happy thanksgiving and enjoy the trip!!
