My sticks made a louder noise at idle when my fuel was low also. Did the in tank fix with the hutch and harpoon mods. After that if my sticks get loud it's because I am about out of fuel. My truck would do this when it was stock and no tunes, and only when i sit for a min or so, when you hit the peddle it would go away.

Wow! I can see I opened a can of worms. Thank you everyone for your input. I'm not a pro mechanic, although I wish I was and am working at getting there. But by reading everything here. I guess it could be something other than the injectors I'm hearing. I guess I'm wrong. Maybe by changing out my straight pipe caused the actual combustion to change since there is more backpressure with the HUGE magnaflow muffler. I'm not complaining about the noise , thats what diesel is all about excluding 6.4's and CR's . And by the way , it has not done that noise again sitting at a light. It must have been because it was cold in north GA ,and I'm used to FL weather. So , in other words. My injectors are probably fine, but if they aren't its a good excuse to grab some for Riffraff

So what am I hearing when I change to 80e? cause its a major noise change. Thanks everyone.

If that is what you want to do, that is a poor excuse. What you need to say is that you are trying to save fuel and so you go to the Single Shot injectors. Say Stage II AC Codes?

I think you are hearing a combustion noise change. Injectors buzz and if they are muffled by the VC and the sound deadening material, I doubt you can hear the change. OTOH, the engine noise is not as muffled and much louder so you probably can hear that.

Do you have PMRs or Forged Rods? http://67.19.132.3/dieselinnovations...g2_itemId=1524

No, UP TO early 01s have forged rods. Late 01s have PMRs. Mine was late.
