Hi all,
I have some bubbling spots on the lower edge of my driver side doors and cab, along with rust spots on my front bumpers. I think the red and black color scheme on my truck would look cool with a black bedliner on the rockers, fender flares and bumpers. Monstaliner is a sponsor here, and their website has some pretty impressive claims. As $800 plus for Line-X is not an option, I think I'm going to try Monstaliner. After a search, it doesn't look like many here have tried it (if you have, PLEASE chime in). I might be the guinea pig for this one, so I guess I'll supply some heavy Pic'age, in typical FTE fashion .
If anybody's used it, speak up. Otherwise, I'll check back in in maybe a week or so.
Thanks
I've never used Monstaliner, but I've had a customer come in with a whole car covered with a thin layer of liner.
It was a beater, but not wrecked in any way.
I thought it was a good idea for that vehicle.
As far as doing your doors, you need to stop the rust from the inside out or it will bubble underneath the liner.
I ordered some of that a few weeks ago after his thread introducing the product. He was very helpful in answering my questions, and my herculiner had seen better days, so I figured why not.
It's a nice 70 deg day today, so I decided to open the box and try the stuff out. I was surprised to find taped to the top of the can, Eric's business card (President and Chief Tech officer). On his business card is his cell phone number. If the President of a company is willing to give out his cell phone number to his customers, that tells me he's confident in his products and has nothing to hide.
It's too soon for me to comment on it since it's still drying. The only thing I know so far is it's just as messy as all the other DIY liners, so wear gloves and some old clothes.
Ah, good to hear Chris. I'm happy to see an expert has chosen it. I'll place my order as soon as I hear back from them. I wanted to check if the standard kit would be enough to do my rockers and bumpers.
I've seen what you're wanting to do on a red dodge. I thought it looked good and was very practical. I've thought of doing that to my black truck when the bottom end rots out.
Post some pics when you're done.
Thanks Jim. Monstaliner is owned by Magnet Paints, and they have a rustbullet clone called Chassis-Saver with the same chemistry as rustbullet. THey recommend that, so I think I'll use the Chassis-Saver so I have an argument if anything goes wrong.
