Anyone know about grades(?) of hydraulic oil?
I have hydraulic oil purchased to be used in a hydrostatic New Holland tractor that I think should work fine in my log splitter. Anyone know of any downsides?
What about the filter, I wonder? What makes one oil filter different from another except for diameter, thread size and micron rating of the filter media?
I welcome all thoughts, conjectures, and wild-*** guesses!!
Thanks. That's what I did and split a cord of wood this afternoon.
Works great. Was a real treat running the rebuilt engine. Didn't fog the whole yard like it used to!
