Question DIFFICULT BED DECISION...NEED HELP?

I have 3 trucks that need new beds.
I have 3 old beds but wife gave me thumbs up to buy new,so here goes.

Lately LMC/midwestford/and a company in Oklahoma....all are having deals on truck bed kits.
I like idea of buying in Ohio and loading trailer and knowing what I am getting.
Others say spend 1000 dollars and shipping is free to my door.
I like that even better.
I am a stock truck builder and want 3 beds stock and a front panel and wood kit for the 53.
Who would you buy from?
Bill......thanks.....and you know I am a miser....so price matters....LOL

Bill,
Check with hot rods trucks. He is in Ohio and you could go pick it up and save shipping cost.

Ditto. I don't have their catalog handy, but I would think they have the "newer" beds like what you are looking for.

I have their book, but his price is nearer to 1400.00
I welded up a front panel today for the 53....but still want new parts.
A company that is a FTE sponsor wrote and said 1000 dollars and free shipping.
Trouble is...I would like to see what I would get.
Cannot remember co.name....but will look up my pms and see the name.
Thanks

I have one from Midwest Early Ford and so far, I'm quite happy with it. Right now I only have the sides on along with the front and the roll pan. I haven't installed the wood or strips yet, but all of the rest fits exactly like it should.

Call Hot Rod Trucks and make your deal
You want to buy three beds and he (or anyone else) isn't doing much business.
He may be able to trim some off the product and he may drop ship for free.
A call is a cheap first step

Why not make one? Save a lot of money, but not time, lol.

Lot of people use these beds for trailers around here, I can think of about 4 just a couple blocks from my house... and of course I'm stuck wanting a long bed and not a short one, lol.

I am a stock-look kind of guy......Maybe a call is indeed the way to go.
LMC/midwest early ford/ Mar k IS the other company that offered it shipped to my door.

Stephen...I have 3 beds here now,but want a new bed for these trucks.
I just refinished the front panel for 1 truck.....but with a big fleet ....you need to buy in bulk....LOL

Bill,

If you call Rod at Hot Rods Trucks ask him if he is going to the all ford swap meet at the Columbus state fairgrounds. He may be able to bring it there and save shipping if you pick it up there.
That,s what i did for my disk brake kit.

I don't know how many people actually make the parts, but most of the people selling them buy them from someone else, then sell them to you. It also seems to be SOP with many sales companies to not tell you where their stuff comes from, like it's top secret, or something. I've dealt directly with Mack Hils a couple times in the past, and was very pleased with his products.

Mar-K is definitely worth considering.
I haven't purchased from the others and don't know who their suppliers are but I believe Mar-K stamps most if not all their own parts and they are good quality heavy guage parts.
I purchased many bed parts and panels for a 50 Chevy and was totally pleased with everything.

Maybe try three different sources and do a comparison.

Good luck.

I've toured MAR-K, but not bought. EVERYTHING I've ever heard is how good they are.
