2002 Explorer XLT 4x4 Problem

2002 Explorer XLT 4x4 Problem
Howdy everyone! Long time reading, first time poster!
I have a 2002 Explorer XLT with a 4x4 Problem. While driving, the 4x4 HIGH light flashes occasionally for as long as I'm driving.
Confused, in my driveway, I tried turning the 4x4 high on, and nothing at all happens. I then put the truck in neutral, hit 4x4 Low, and BAM it engages just fine, and I hear the click behind the dash. I hit 4x4 High, it disengages the 4x4 Low but then starts flashing 4x4 high. If i do the same test, but hit 4x4 Auto, it clicks, disengages and all is well. Eventually the 4x4 high light will flash again.
I hear it could just be the 4x4 Control Module, but do not want to drop $$ without having a better handle on the problem. What do you guys think/recommend?
