7.3L into a 2005 SD?

The rolling chassis is the way to I have seen it done and it didn't take a ton of modification to do it. Fuel systems are totally different but it can be done. If you have the time, money and a good doner truck it may be worth it

I have already done the front end conversion and have the '08+ mirrors. BUT.... i bought a used 05 king ranch the other and was going to swap out interiors and after looking at removing the dash and all the wiring and add wiring for the heated seats, plus i would like the power back sliding glass and i like the power sunroof. Then i drove it, and I am not exaggerating it is atleast 10x as smooth as my 2002. So i thought about it a couple days and thought wouldn't it just be easier to put the 7.3 motor and tranny in the 05-07 then trying to make ALL the other amenities to fit my 02. One big modification seems more logical to me than a whole lot of little ones. Also i will be doing around a 400 HP build to go with everything. I love my '02, i've had it for 6 years and have 280k but I am feeling less attached to it. That being said I have read the many threads on here about switching to the '11 and newer and i am not going down that road. I love the 7.3 and i know how to wrench on it and i love the 05-07 king ranch's. Thats where I'm at. let me know what you think. It doesn't sound like anybody has done this????
