That is a heavy trailer and a tight squeeze in a super cab, so we understand your reasoning for selling the 7.3. Post back with pictures and thoughts on what you purchase to replace her. Even if it is not a 7.3, many of us can appreciate a nice truck.

Good luck on your search for a new work horse.

The new trucks are strong and are building a good reputation. Although, all of the new technology and sensors scare me off if I start to think about an upgrade. Well, that and the price tag that comes with them.

What model 5th wheel are you getting into? My wife and I are going to get a Montana High Country 313RE this fall/winter and are really looking forward to it.

We look forward to seeing pictures of the truck and then the 5th wheel when you get it.

They do have big Superdutys with a 7.3L. BFife pulls a monster 5er with his F550 pickup (far left in photo), but the suspension is a stiff bugger.

I can't speak of the long hauls and mountain climbs but I had mine grossed out at 22,500 and it handled it like it was made for it. I did guzzle a lot of fuel though. It was not hot out and I had no mountains to climb though so how it would handle those two at the same time I do not know.

Start looking and be patient. I think a F350 7.3 CC
Could handle it. You wood definitely need a big modfest under the hood.
But if budget is there a 6.7 will definitely do it.
My thoughts are the 7.3 can and will do it. Mpg will be terrible though.
I currently have a 33 ft total length Travel Trailer. At this length I can't just go in blind to a strange campground and fit into the sites. Think about that if your exploring new areas. I do worry to much sometimes though.

It would do it with minor and doable issues. I think sometimes people overthink the weight/truck thing. Nothing wrong with that, but these are very capable. I pull 10,500-11,000 with the truck in my signature. It does it beautifully. If I bought a toyhauler or bigger 5th wheel, I'd still do it with my truck. Check out Oldbird's setup and some other OBS guys. We all tow pretty heavy with good results. A 7.3 SD will surely do it with no issues.
