Thanks for the link, 7LUG. That's the cheapest I've seen the tool offered for anywhere so far. I'll be ordering mine this week. With 40k on my 06, it's time to get those Motorcrafts out of it and some Champions in there.

1940hrs...at O'reilly's to get a 15/16ths deep socket.
1950hrs...#6 ground shield extracted.
1955hrs...#7 ground shield extracted.
After seeing the ground shields on these I'm thinking of raising the BS flag. There was little if any buildup on mine, and the carbon that was there was extremely soft. Seems like they shouldn't have any issue coming out of the head. Go figure.
Given how easy it was once I had the Lisle tool in hand I'm thinking of replacing the plugs on the passenger side bank while I've got the intake off.
