85 body on newer ford or dodge frame.

Does anyone know if this has ever really been done before. I have been considering a diesel swap for a while now but it seems like it might be easier and wiser to just swap bodies. It would be much easier then trying to mount all of the newer drivetrain. I know its been done with 70's trucks, 1972 Power stroke 6.0 483 rwhp & rising - Powerstroke Nation but has anyone ever seen it done, or know anything about doing it with an 80's ford?

You could do a 85 body swap onto a 94-97 F250-350 powerstroke truck and it would be a direct bolt on. Just some wiring to do
I am almost doing this. I am using a 95 F350 axles,t-case,trans and powerstroke in my 86F250

yea franklin2 I put in a link to that 72 that was done that way. seems like a lot less work to put the body on the frame then to try to swap all the components over to the old truck. especially sense its a half ton. Id like to swap the interiors over to. It would be a ton of work but it would make for one nice looking truck when its all said and done. Id like to use a 99 or 2000 chasis with a 7.3 and 6 spd. sure would be fun.

One of those truck shows on CMT did a body swap onto a Dodge chassis. They used a older Ford(79 older) cab as I recall...
