I have an 01 7.3 Ex and the SES light is on. The truck continues to run fine so I checked and cleared the code with my scangauge. The code was PO683 which I have researched on here and it looks like the Glow plug control module. Does anyone know where the best place to buy one of these is and can I install it myself? Or do I need to take it to Ford and see if it is something else? thanks for your input
Im actually going there as soon as my son wakes up, I am now searching the doorlock actuators to find the best instructions. Those should be found at advance aswell correct?
I read over the instructions and it sounds pretty complex with the drilling and zip tieing and stuff. But what do I have to loose, if i mess them up I will have to buy new ones anyway.

+1 on the tin foil fix. it will save you some $$.its pretty simple as well
Well I decided to give the ol door lock fix a try this afternoon, I have now decided that I lack patience and the know how. Even though there has been a billion post on the topic, I still am in fear of breaking something other than the actuator that is broke already. I got the door off, I went to disconnect the medal rod that leads to the actuator and could not get it un hooked. I then decided it was getting dark so I went to put the door covering back on and broke a clip. Fortunatly there are several clips and that one did not seem to matter much. I finally got the door back on and gonna stop while I am ahead. My brother in law works on cars for a living and will be getting him to do it before I really screw something up. Rob, the word simple for you means a little different for me. I am glad it worked out for you, looks like I am gonna have to fork out some money.
