power steering question?

can i use a acdelco atf type lll on my 01 sport trac power steering fluid?i mean my steering fluid is a little bit low...i just want to top it up.. i dont know what type of fluid the past owner use..any help?

that should not be a problem, but the truck had MERCON when it came from the factory. Normally any type auto trans fluid is acceptable.
