It just died the other morning. No sputtering, no check engine, nothing. Like someone just reached over and turned it off. Now it will crank, but no start. Any suggestions? No codes show up either.
the admin should take this to the 6.0l forum, but this is what my truck did when the hpop went out sadly enough how many miles you have on it? Plus what mods if any do you have? Have you changed your filters recently?
Anyone? Been reading other posts, but still not sure where to start. If I take the oil filter out and roll over , will it still pump if the HPOP is bad?
Pull the cap off the upper ff. If theres fuel, I would lean towards HPOP, that is what happened to mine- just died. Crank and no start. Theres a procedure you can follow to narrow it down, I'll see if I can find it. HPOP cost me $2400 at the dealer, out of warranty FWIW. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...condition.html Here it is
The 03-04 had some wire chafing issues that will shut off a perfectly healthy motor. There are several places on the injector harness that should be checked. The first is where the harness plugs into the FICM(there is an updated harness with a cover to stop this chafing point)The next is a stud or two on the intake depending on the harness routing. Then between the oil filter housing and EGR valve, then at the alternator bracket. The studs on the passengers side should be checked as well. The FICM has a ground wire on the last stud on the drivers side that can chafe the IPR/ICP wires and must also be checked.First things first is check if the truck has codes.

If you take the oil filter out the oil will immediately drain back into the pan.
