I have a '03 F-250 with a 6.0, 6 speed manual, 4X4 build date of April 2003.
Got a check engine light, DTC is P2285. No noticeable issues, engine runs fine and still has good power and starts fine.
Going to replace the ICP sensor. While looking for the sensor
I see there are two different part numbers. Is one the old part and one the revised or updated sensor?
what would be the proper P/N for my application?
Any help is greatly appreciated
Just replaced mine ,it was leaking oil into the connector , mine had a rough idle and surging [same code P2285 and same everything ,'03 ,6 spd.4x4] You can also change connector if needed. WARNING!!!! It is not a job for the non- mechanic if you know what I mean. The sensor is behind the turbo under the left up pipe. There are some very good write ups in 6.0 Tech. on how to replace it from the top . Part# for sensor I used is3c3z/9f838/ea The # for the connector is 5c3z/12224/a Hope this helps

Holy **** how come they sell it so cheap? My local Ford dealer quoted me $380 for the sensor and $199 for the plug.
That is why I asked for the part numbers, they didn't want to give me that info either.
I bought the truck new from them, rather pissed now, guess I need to find another dealer.

Thanks for the info
That's why some dealers not all!!! don't want to give up the part number, they know you are going to shop around for a better price. I purchase just about everything I need for my truck.. filters; parts; ect. online.
Thanks rocky. I paid 66.78 for the connector, same price for the sensor though. Anyway it runs great.
<style></style> I didn't install the sensor yet. I just finished pulling the turbo today. I purchased the turbo resurfacing kit an plan on doing that tomorrow. When that in done I will tackle the ICP sensor. (Not Looking Forward for that) I don't know if it's bad but while the turbo is out I have to be crazy not to change out the sensor and connector. I had a hell of a time getting out the turbo..Never want to pull it again!!! Damn I still have to put it back in!!! I just HOPE it runs right after all this..

I just did this myself this past Sunday. Took about three hours. I opted to do it from the top as there was no way I could have done it from the bottom. There's a heat shield right behind the sensor that leaves you blind from the bottom.
I removed the airbox and intake, the degas bottle, and disconnected all the harnesses on that side and removed that little grounding stud toward the back (trust me, you will need to do that). To disconnect the plug, I bought a cheap set of picks from Harbor Fright and after some cursing and repeated tries I got it. I then used a 1 1/16" thin walled impact socket with a swivel and a couple extensions to get the sensor out. Getting the new one in was no easy task. I had to use both hands and reach around the y pipe with one and put my other down in the hole to feel around and finally got it in. The absolute hardest part was getting the new connector plugged in. What a pain in the butt that was. I made sure I coated the contacts and plug with a good amount of dielectric grease as well. I buttoned everything back up and the CEL was still lit, but I drove it around for a while, then shut it off and restarted and it was gone. Been running much better since the change.
