I am in the market for gauges and would like some recomendations from people running Isspro gauges. Is it worth the extra money for the EV2's or are the EV1's just fine? It is about $120 more for the three gauge set. I am looking at trans, boost, pyro A pillar mount.
I think I have the EV1's, and while they were a bit of a pain to wire in (not that bad though) I like the fact that I can dim them with my factory gauges w/o a separate dimmer just for the gauges. Plus the extra $120 you'd spend could be spent on other mods!
I have the EV2's. The only 'extra' wiring would be the potentiometer. I believe this is some sort of resistor with a ****, so you can adjust the dimming to match the factory dash dimming. I like the electronic sender for the boost which I mounted in the AIH delete plug. From there, just wires to the gauge. Nice not having to run more air line.
I like the EV2's better. The additional dimmer is just to match the gauge lighting intensity to the factory lighting. After that, they dim with the factory dimmer. I like my Performax.
Thank you for all your help i ordered the EV2's from Riffraff diesel and will install them this week.
Quick note of advice if you haven't already started install yet. Not a huge deal, but you might want to put your potentiometer **** in a less conspicious spot than I did. (It's the black **** on the left side of the dash). I was thinking I would need it more frequently than you actually do. Once it is set and calibrated to your dimmer, you don't really need it again unless you wish to adjust it brighter or less. Had I thought it through more thoroughly, I would have just stuck it under the dash in a reachable spot.
