P1316 code and vibration
I had the ses light come on yesterday and noticed the truck had a vibration.
I hooked up my predator programmer (I guess it is good for something).
"P1316 injector module code detected" Came up.
I searched around and I'm thinking its the under valve cover harness (uvch).
Is there one side that fails more than the other?
Any tricks or tips?
I saw this link:

that was helpful.

Often times you can use an ohm meter and figure out which valve cover needs to come off. Disconnect the flat 9 pin connector on the inboard side of each valve cover and test the pins looking for something out of spec.
The 9-pin plug is wired as follows:
G G I I C I I G G
G=Glow Plug +
I = Injector +
C= Injector Common
The injectors fire with a 115VDC signal from the IDM. Do Not pierce the wires to test.
Test between "I" and "C" to test the injectors, should be less than 5.0 Ohms.
To check glow plugs Test between "G" and battery ground. Should be less than 2.0 Ohms
If you find readings outside these numbers, pull that valve cover and check for the loose connector.

Thanks for the info.
We pulled the passenger side valve cover and the plug was melted pretty bad.
Bought a new harness/gasket at Napa for $100.00.It came with a new plug that we soldered onto the trucks harness. Some of the bolts did need to be tightened.
We removed and checked each of the glow plugs. They ranged from .5 to .9 ohms.
(or was it 5.0 to 9.0?) I think the .9 was definitely on the high side,but I decided not to replace them.
We put the quarter in the harness and put it all back together. Runs much better.
We did not mess with the driver side.
Thank you for the help- Again! Ron
