85 6.9 diesel NEED HELP
needs some help from some experts out there. I am literaly puting it back together. and have no idea where the battery leads conect to the engine, chassis, sloiniod, ect.
I bought it interior stripped and engine out, and for some reason the guy was literaly just taking it apart. plus need to know the following.
exhaust stud nuts are what size and thread?
does any one have the starter bolt specs.
where can i get the fuel line rubber seal for the steel line from the fuel filter to fuel high pressure pump?

Welcome to FTE and the IDI diesel forum.
First question first,
Two batteries with a minimum of 850 CCA each.
Diesels use extra heavy battery cables, 2/0 wire for the grounds and a 2/0 to 3/0 wire for the positive cable.
The negative cables, one for each battery mount to the engine on bolts down by the harmonic balancer, one on each side pointed toward the radiator.
Not really a good picture of what you are looking for but you can see the holes where they mount in this picture, far bottom left and right in the red block.

Positive battery cable starts at the drivers side battery, 2/0 cable runs across the top of the radiator support to the passenger side battery where it changes to 3/0 cable down to the starter mounted solenoid big terminal.
On the 85, there is also a #4 wire from the passenger side positve post that goes to the glow plug relay which is mounted down on the inner fender well, then has a jumper from there up to the starter relay mounted on the fender.
