just finished fuel valve replacement......

what a pita.....or im just getting older,fatter, and patience has wore thin.....had to find a comfy spot sitting in the middle of the motor first off....have to practically stand on your head at times.......then reroute some wires to even be able to get to the darn screws......4 0r 5 trips back down to the ground for a stretch, and about 4 gazillion clicks of my 1/4 in rachet later, im all dry again with no leaks....yee haw.....hope the new orings will hold for another decade or so....i got lazy and got the whole assembly from ford for 55 bucks.....anybody know if they are putting better o rings in those now???

Nope, same ol' Buna-N with the Yellow PTFE coating that comes off with the ULSD and gums things up.

Viton is definitely the way to go. The 2 links Clay posted are the o-rings you need to use with our wonderful ULSD fuel.

I put buna o-rings in mine from the hardware store 3 years ago and they are stilll holding
I do have the vitons in the box for if they ever start leaking

I have some Vitons for the future also, I just wonder how long they will keep in case I don't use them for a few years?

think ill do the same....the old ones lasted 9 years so maybe ill get 4 or 5 out of these....

Forever, there is not shelf life as it isn't degraded by sun, air or the elememts.

I ordered 10 or 15 of the vitons from McMaster-Carr,think they were about $5 shipped
Hope the haven't rotted in the 3 yrs they've been riding around
