480 is sent back
My new 480 Ruger must be sent back :-X23
I have put about a hundred rounds through it (at nearly a $1 a round ouch! I will start reloading for this beast) and it still will not release the cartridge after fireing. I called Hornady with lot #'s and the like and they said they have never heard of such a problem since the 480 has very forgiving clearances. Called Ruger. They were suspicous about the whole thing and wanted me to call Hornady.
I even tried using my cordless drill and a copper brush in an attempt to make the rounds slide out easier but to no avail.
So she goes back with 5 mildly stuck empty cartridges in it. They can be removed but not quickly and when the gun has been fired it's really, really tough. Other than that I love the gun.
The cartridges move about a 10th of the way out on ejection and then JAM. You have to remove them slowly one by one.
Mine has the 9 inch barrel.
