:-) I only get pretty welds, but never think to take pictures of them. I currently only have a couple pics of some of the big equipment we used to build out of stainless at a previous shop. (I'm in-between fab. jobs at the moment.) I'll try to remember to get pics for you guys next time I'm building something.
Vertical ups are pretty fun once you get the hang of it, have good equipment, and thick enough material... I learned how to do them while building car crushers... almost therapeutic when you have 2' long welds to run, just focus on the weld, and nothing else...

I learned welding vertical on railroad rails. That was thick enough material. It wasn't very therapeutic though, being as it was 115' in the shade during the summer.
I learned to weld vertical when I was in high school instructor told me to fill the gap as soon as I started at the top he cuffed me in the back of the head and showed me how to do it right.
