1951 EFI Project

Well I made my final selection on some key parts for my 1951 F1. I plan to work on my truck after Christmas. Currently I am replacing the complete wiring harness. Enclosed is a copy of the kit I bought.

Is this kit suppose to allow you to change from carb to EFI?

Very cool! That looks like a fairly easy install.

I'm in the process (very slowly) of putting port fuel injection on my 500ci Caddy in my 49. I'm building the MegaSquirt controller. I can't wait to get rid of the carb....lol

Good luck with it, keep us posted on the process (take lots of pics of the install)

Yes this kit is designed to just replace the carb... did lots research before I made this move... Hot Rod current addition has a full article on the install etc... I plan to document my install and share...

Nice
From the look of the kit pictured it should be a pretty straightforward installation.

I wish mine was going to be that easy. I'm managed to find an old mid 70's Caddy port injection manifold, fuel rails, throttle body, etc and I'm adapting modern electronics to it. Overall it shouldn't be too bad. Right now I'm building a test stand so I can test and clean all the injectors.

Keep us posted. I've been planning an EFI installation on my 51 merc pickup as well. I'm going to use the megasquirt and either purchase a manifold to allow me to do port injection or use a tbi setup out of a gmc sonoma (almost exactly the same size as the original flathead carb).
